Carry the egg back across the map to your base pen to bank it. There is no minigame or lockpick: the theft is instant, and the escape is the skill check.

How do I escape the guardian?

Guardians are per-biome predators tuned to that zone’s Speed gate — you generally cannot outrun a guardian your Speed was not built for. Your escape toolkit, in order of importance:

1. Raw Speed — trained on your base treadmill; this is the stat biome gates check.
2. Trail multipliers — 1.5x to 14x speed boosts; a mid-tier trail effectively lets you punch one biome above your raw stat. See the trails guide.
3. Route discipline — run the shortest line to your pen; every detour is time the guardian is gaining.
4. Egg value judgment — grabbing a Common egg at the edge of your range is a bad trade; a Secret egg one zone early is a calculated risk.

How does stealing from other players work?

On top of nest theft, you can raid other players’ bases and take eggs sitting in their pen — the game’s 7-player servers make this personal, and it is the fastest way to leapfrog your own biome progression. A stolen high-tier egg skips both the guardian run and the hatch gamble’s worst outcomes.

Practical raiding rules:

• Watch the server list. On a quiet server, unattended pens are easy pickings; on an active one, expect a defender.
• Steal what you can carry safely. Getting chased by an angry base owner is its own minigame — grab and leave.
• Prompt collection is the counter. Eggs only exist in the stealable window between spawn and hatch — players who hatch immediately leave nothing to raid.

How do I defend my own base?

There is no wall or turret that makes a pen theft-proof — defense is behavioral, not architectural:

• Hatch fast. A hatched pet is permanently yours; an unhatched egg is everyone’s. Treat your pen like a mailbox, not a vault.
• Collect on the reset cycle. If you are farming a distant biome, time your trips so eggs do not sit unguarded.
• Know your neighbors. With only 7 players per server, learn who is raiding and who is AFK — grief the thieves, ignore the sleepers.
